God of Pain by Rina Kent

Overall:

God of Pain was, for sure, an improvement from the last book. I still didn’t love it but at least the couple had some chemistry and the MMC wasn’t actively assaulting the FMC. However I think the overall story was very similar to God of Malice and that Rina used the exact same formula for them (which is not necessarily a bad thing but it makes the book kinda predictable). Btw anyone who comes for my girl Ava for slapping Annika will have to go through me, because she was just doing what any other MMC would have done if someone hurt one of their best friends. With this said I gave the book 2.75/5 stars, because I liked but I think it could have been better.

Also can we stop with the overprotective brother trope???

Characters:

I thought Annika was really cute but at the same time I would have liked for her character to have some more development. Wish we got to see more of her relationship with Jeremy because I think they could have been one of the best sibling duos if only we had more moments of them.

Creighton is a very complex character and I really liked getting to read through his pov, although his possessiveness and jealousy started to get on my nerves at the end. But overall I liked his growth during the book and to get to know his struggles and motivations. Also he got Annika tiger and ate all inedible food which is like the cutest thing ever. I absolutely loved his relationship with Eli, they literally have  the cutest brother bond ever and I can’t wait to read more about their relationship. “To be Creighton through Eli’s eyes”.

Atmosphere:

I really like academic settings so this was for sure something I appreciated. The animal shelter was such a good addition to the story and the MC’s had such lovely moments there. The island vacation was such a lovely addition as well and I was so sad when they had to move on from there…
